Remote video provides medical services, Kry received $66 million in Series B financing

Swedish electronic medical startup Kry recently received $66 million in Series B financing. Index led the round of financing, and other participants included Accel, Creandum and Project A, which were previously involved in financing.

Kry won $22.8 million in Series A financing a year ago. Since its inception in 2014, the company has raised a total of $92 million.

This round of financing will be used to expand the market, with initial targets for the UK and France. The company also said it would seek to gain a larger share of the existing markets – Sweden, Norway and Spain. At the same time, we look forward to providing more comprehensive medical services through remote consultation.

A company spokesperson told reporters that the company is trying different business models. Kry's initial business model allows users to pay for doctors who provide video consultation. In a market where taxpayers such as the United Kingdom have paid for the establishment of the NHS, a free medical service for all, Kry's original business model may not be the most appropriate.

The spokesperson said: "Our goal is to serve as many patients as possible. We are exploring the possibility of providing services through different models. We are also closely discussing the issues with shareholders."

He added: “Services will vary in different parts of Europe and prices will vary according to region.”

Medical consultation is done remotely through the App's video platform. Kry's technology allows patients to easily and easily reach competent medical professionals. On this App platform, it is clearly stated that doctors are always recruited in the local market.

On the bright side, the company said that there are currently about 430,000 registered users, and they have conducted more than 40 million "doctors and patients". (The 430,000 registered users include those who have registered but have not used the service.)

In the company's existing three European markets, services have increased by 740% compared to the same period last year. The company said they provide a platform for more than 3% of primary health care patients across Sweden. The company has more than 300 doctors in Sweden.

In March of this year, the company launched a psychological service and became the largest provider of CBT treatment in Sweden.

Martin Mignot, a partner at Index Capital, commented on this round of financing in a statement: “Kry offers valuable opportunities for all patients in Europe to access higher quality health care and lower cost primary care. Kry has become a household name in Sweden. Swedish users have witnessed the company's benefits for patients and have made Kry part of the mass medical system. We are excited to work with Johannes' team to bring Kry to the rest of Europe."

This application is a platform for doctors and patients to communicate through video communication. Patients must write their own symptoms in black and white to the app, upload relevant pictures and answer relevant questions.

According to the company, patients can get prescriptions, recommendations, transfer to experts, labs, or dated video again to get more tests on needles by video communication with Kry's doctor. The prescription drugs and test tools can be delivered to the patient's home within two hours.

The spokesman said. “Our users come from all ages. Our oldest user has just passed the 100th birthday. Family with children forms the main user group. But other age groups are increasingly using our services. ”

There are currently many video medical consulting service providers seeking to expand the market. For example, Push Doctor in the United Kingdom and Doctor On Demand in the United States.
